Uses functional conversational English which means the student can understand and follow instructions, has the ability to communicate in written and oral forms, and follows basic English grammar conventions.
Applies organizational skills which means the student knows how to organize a student planner keeping track of daily assignments, quizzes and tests. The student is prepared daily and completes all requirements of study satisfactorily.
Is an independent worker which means the student completes work and turns it in on time. The student takes the initiative to ask for help when needed from a teacher, host family, or other English speaking students. Students may not speak in Spanish while on school grounds to promote their use of the English language throughout the day.
Assumption School hosts a foreign exchange program to immers students in an English speaking classroom, improve their English language fluency, provide an American cultural experience, and prepare students for their future career.
In order to receive credit for the year spent at Assumption School, a foreign student must achieve a 75% in all subjects to be promoted to the next grade level in Mexico.
Transfer documents are provided by the Mexican Consulate as proof of credit for the school year. The school will work directly with the Consulate and will mail appropriate documents once received.
