Welcome to a high quality early learning environment for young children. Our program is focused on the whole child and embracing him/her as a child of God. We encourage positive social and emotional interactions within the group. The setting is a safe, nurturing place where the children are encouraged to become risk takers in the learning process. The curriculum is rooted in gospel values and provides a strong academic foundation which includes active participation and creativity. The program offers a balance of free choice and guided activities in learning stations.
Pre-Reading – Students learn letters of the alphabet, recognition and sounds. Letters make words. Rhyming, positional words, describing words, and using complete sentences. We are using the pre-reading series, “Happily Ever After” to reinforce these skills.
Pre-Writing – Students begin by learning to hold a pencil correctly, tracing letters and numbers that lead to writing those letters and numbers as well as their own name.
Math – Students learn basic patterning, shapes, graphing, counting, measuring, numbers and number sets. Basic addition and subtraction skills are included.
Arts and Crafts – The children are given ample time to express themselves creatively. We learn our colors through coloring, painting and play dough. We experiment with a variety of tools and mediums to create our masterpieces.
Science and Social Studies – The children find answers through active exploration. The themes include: our bodies, senses, plants, animals, insects, ocean, dinosaurs, social skills, community helpers, and so much more.
Religion – Our day always begins with prayer and ends with prayer. We are using, “Discovering God’s World” by Sadlier to enrich our religion curriculum.
Music- There is time for music and singing with movement that follows our curriculum themes.
